Linkwood Distillery, located in the heart of Speyside, was founded in 1821 by Peter Brown and is renowned for producing elegant, delicately floral single malts, often with hints of honey and orchard fruits.
Linkwood takes a traditional approach to whisky-making, using long fermentation periods and wooden washbacks to enhance the spirit’s complexity. Though much of its production is used in premium blends, its independent bottlings have gained a loyal following for their subtle yet refined character, making Linkwood a hidden gem among Speyside distilleries.
Historically, Linkwood Distillery has avoided any change in the distillery setup for fear it would change the way its whisky tasted! For many years, the distillery famously wouldn’t even allow spiders’ webs to be dusted away or for the distillery manager to cut the grass around the buildings, believing the change might affect the whisky’s character!
This commitment to tradition has contributed to Linkwood’s reputation for producing consistently premium whisky.
Really nice whisky. Recommend adding ice to gradually water it down as cask strength carries a punch.
This is a cracking dram. On the nose creamy with a touch of cherry cake while on the palate the creaminess reminded me of crème brûlée and ripe berries. The best is kept to last, the finish - complex and lasting retaining a touch of sweetness. Lovely.
I was expecting this 57.8%vol whisky to be a little harsh but it is far from it. Very smooth and almost sweet. Great with or without water. Love it, now trying to savour it for as long as possible, not wanting it to run out.

Great cask strength whisky! I find there's a wee bit of a spicy kick at the back of it yet still quite sweet. A nice change from my normal peaty tasting whiskies.
